Latvian project manager receives the construction industry’s Grand Prix

Sergejs Periņecs, Project Manager of Merks construction company, has been awarded the Project Manager of the Year title at the Grand Prix in the Construction Industry ceremony. Sergejs also merited special awards for professional cooperation from Bauroc LLC, Knauf LLC and Doka Latvija LLC.

With his expertise and experience, Sergejs has managed to achieve what would otherwise have seemed almost impossible – the construction of Exupery International School was realised within just 11 months. The project, amounting to over 13 million euros, has been completed in line with top quality standards.

Sergejs has been working for Merks since 2005, and he has managed the construction of numerous complex projects. As of today, he is charged with overseeing construction works on the multi-functional Akropole shopping centre .

The annual Grand Prix in the Construction Industry is awarded by the Latvian Association of Civil Engineers in cooperation with other public organisations in the construction industry and Būvinženieris magazine. Merks employees have already won this prestigious award several times before. Ivo Brālēns won the title of Engineer of the Year in 2013 and 2015, while Valdis Silnieks was declared Young Engineer of the Year in 2014. Special awards were also granted to Roberts Rēboks, Maksims Momots and Ivo Boruks.
