Merko Ehitus and Tallinna Teede AS awarded with The Most Competitive Company award

At the festive gala night of entrepreneurship competitions held on 9 October 2014 AS Merko Ehitus group was awarded with two prizes: AS Merko Ehitus is the Most Competitive Construction Enterprise and Tallinna Teede AS, part of the group, is the Most Competitive Small and Medium-sized Enterprise 2014.

According to Mait Palts, Director General of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Competitiveness Ranking highlights the strongest companies by their success, results and sustainability. “We can say that it shows the complex capacity of companies, which is expressed in very good economic results – higher sales, better financial results, efficiency and productivity. We recognize the companies whose development has been sustainable over the years and who have given their significant contribution to the society. We consider it important that the small are recognised as much as the large-scale companies so that they would set an example and be trailblazers for others who are just starting,” added Palts.

The competition website at http://www.ettevotluskonkurss.ee/ has information on all of the winners as well as video of the evening’s proceedings. A book featuring the best of the competition, “Best Estonian Companies 2014” can be read (in Estonian) at https://www.fingler.com/mag/122938 and has company profiles and interviews with directors.

The winners of the Competitiveness Ranking compiled by the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Estonian Employers’ Confederation are determined in large-scale enterprise, small and medium-sized enterprise and micro-enterprise categories. In addition, rankings are compiled in 12 fields: retail, wholesale, industrial and energy, food industry, construction, communication/IT services, transportation and logistics, architecture and project design, tourism, financial brokerage, business service and real estate, and service. A total of 472 companies took part this year in the Competitiveness Ranking competition.
