The goal of expanding the fully renovated Eesti 330 kV substation was to establish a connection point for connecting the Roheline Elekter AS wind farm. One 330 kV bay was designed and constructed in the framework of the contract. The construction work took place while the substation is on-line; thus great emphasis was laid on the planning of the work and employee safety. The construction of the bay included earth-moving work, construction of foundations and subframes for the equipment, installation of equipment, connecting of cables, and work to configure and integrate the equipment with the existing substation.

On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
