The Priimetsa asphalt concrete plant in the city of Valga operated from 1956 to 1992. The soil and groundwater on the former plant territory are contaminated; there is the risk of pollution reaching the Pedeli River as well.To clean up the pollution, the contaminated soil must be dug up and replaced with uncontaminated soil. A total of 10,000 cubic metres of contaminated soil will be removed from Priimetsa site and handed over to a waste handling company. In addition, infrastructure, concrete residues and refuse in the project area will be eliminated.
