Alfa is one of the largest shopping centres in Riga, being located in Teika district. The work included construction of two buildings − a three-storey carpark with a total area of 16,000 m² and a commercial building (shopping centre extension) with four above-ground storeys, an underground carpark with a total area of 49,000 m², and territory improvement and landscaping works, including 177 new trees, a children’s playground and a patio area with loungers.

By completion of the extension built by Merks, the total area of the shopping centre, including the multi-storey and underground carparks, increased by 55,000 m² from 99,000 m² to 154,000 m², of which 71,000 m² is for tenants. Additional 20,000 m² of leasable retail space was added to the centre. After the extension, the number of tenants increased from 170 to 210. The new carpark building and landscaping provide parking space for 1,750 cars as well as convenient bicycle parking.
