The Jõgeva court house and police station is situated in the centre of Jõgeva. The building has one floor underground for technical rooms and prison cells, and 4 overground floors for the police, immigration and nationality affairs office, court house and prosecutor’s office.

The building stands on a panel foundation, the bearing constructions are mainly of prefabricated reinforced concrete, and some floors from cast-in place concrete. The non-bearing interior walls of the basement are made of Columbia concrete blocks (mostly fi lled with concrete) and the overground walls of gypsum plaster board (mostly 145 mm thick). The facade solution incorporates different surfaces, which according to the architect should mark the two functions of the building (public versus private, police versus court) and accord with the neighbouring county government building. The southern part of the building is covered with red ceramic brick (clean brickwork), and the northern cantilevered part with white wood-floated concrete. The lower part is covered with dark grey smudged concrete. The northern and western facades got hot-galvanized steel welded gratings over concrete panels. At the windows, the gratings also function as railings reaching 90 cm from the floor. The 3-layered reinforced concrete panels on the exterior wall are up to 420 mm thick. The windows and doors on the ground floor are made of glass and aluminium, windows higher up of plastic.
