The Leedri residential quarter is located in Raadi, on the border between the City of Tartu and Tartu Municipality. In total, six apartment buildings with 144 apartments will be constructed in the quarter.
As the first stage of the Leedri Homes development, two apartment buildings will be completed at Leedripuu 1 and Leedripuu 2. The three-storey buildings, rated energy class A, will include 48 well-designed 2–4-room apartments ranging in size from 44 to 102 square metres.
Each apartment building is equipped with a lift. In addition to storage rooms, the basement floor also includes a bicycle room, and the buildings’ energy consumption is supported by rooftop solar panels. All ground-floor apartments feature spacious terraces, while apartments on the second and third floors have balconies. In the four-room apartments on the top floor, cooling systems are included in the apartment price; cooling can be ordered as an extra for the other apartments.
The architecture of the Leedri residential buildings emphasises modernity and minimalism, and the timeless combination of wood and white plaster blends well with the character of a modern suburban area. The residential quarter is planned with ample open space and greenery. The courtyards of the buildings will be landscaped by Merko with trees, shrubs and plants. Car parking spaces will be located next to the buildings. Each apartment building will have a shared electric vehicle charging station, and private parking spaces will be equipped with readiness for installing individual chargers.
The Leedri residential quarter is designed according to the vision of architect Anu Tammemägi, who also created the architectural concept for the Tähepargi residential quarter developed by Merko, which was awarded the title of Tartu’s Best Building in 2019 among new integrated building ensembles.
All amenities necessary for comfortable living are located near the Leedri residential quarter. Raadi Education Centre houses both a kindergarten and a school. Immediately next to the quarter is the Jasmiini Street recreational area, featuring playgrounds and climbing areas, an outdoor gym, a basketball court and a dog park, making leisure time convenient for all family members. A bus stop and grocery store are nearby, and Tartu city centre can be reached from the new homes within a 10-minute drive. Tartu Municipality is also planning to build a primary school and a sports building with a stadium in the area.
