The building at Sadama 4 houses the first hotel in the Baltic States to meet Hyatt standards, as well as the Ankru office building. The developers of the complex are Estma HPT, Nordox, and Wingmacht Arendus. The building, with a gross area of nearly 15,000 square meters, was built by Merko. The building’s architecture was designed by architect Martin Kinks.
The hotel section of the building, which has six above-ground and one underground floor, features 169 guest rooms that meet the high standards of the international Hyatt hotel chain. The first floor of the hotel houses the Zoom restaurant and a lobby bar, while the top floor features a bar with a stylish atmosphere. Additional amenities for hotel guests include a fitness center and conference rooms that can be flexibly adapted to host a variety of events. The building’s rooftop terrace offers views of the Old Town and Tallinn Bay. The Ankru office building houses office spaces and the high-end Riva restaurant.
As a gift to the client, Merko installed a nearly three-meter-tall golden metal sculpture in front of the building. Created specifically for this location by Kalle Pruuden and crafted by HN Steel, “Ankur” symbolizes stability and security—what a crew seeks when dropping anchor on a sea voyage, but also the feeling a visitor to Tallinn expects from their hotel experience.
The wall graphics on the building’s parking level won a Bronze Egg in the environmental design category at the Kuldmuna (Gold Egg) 2026 competition.
