Description of work

The purpose of laying the water pipeline for the pumping station at Tondi 90 is to ensure parallel water supply to increase the reliability of drinking water supply in neighbourhoods in Mustamäe and Õismäe in the event of possible disruptions. We built 2.5 km of 630 mm pipeline leading to the pumping station at Tondi 90. The pipeline established supplies to approximately 100,000 inhabitants. Most of the pipe length – about 1.4 km – was laid using the no-dig method. The work was performed by AS Merko Infra’s horizontal drilling team. The welding work on the pipelines, and construction of water centres and chambers was also performed by the AS Merko Infra construction crew. In the course of the work, 190 metres of protection sleeves with a diameter of Dn800 were established using the no-dig method, and 12 chambers for damper functions were also established.
