The main reason for the construction of multi-functional hall was the 2006 World Ice Hockey Championships in Riga, after which the city has gained a modern place for high-quality concerts, shows and major sporting events. 2nd Place winner in competition „Building of the Year 2006” organized by Latvian Builders Association.
