Construction of the substation took place in restricted spaces, near a working substation, and the entire substation was built on wedge-shape piles due to the complex geological soil conditions. The substation construction works included installation of 110 kV overhead power lines up to dead-end towers, and delivery and installation of a new 110 kV switchyard. New relay protections as well as automation and auxiliary voltage devices were installed in a newly built control building. A new auxiliary equipment building for Elektrilevi was also built and tied to an existing relay protection system.

On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
