In the spring of 2023, entrepreneurs and experts worked together to prepare the Green Tiger Construction Road Map. The road map sets the goal of reducing CO₂ emissions in the construction and real estate sector by 85% by 2040 and provides recommendations on how to achieve this. 

Merko was involved in preparing the road map, acting as both a supporter and a partner in formulating its contents. The aim of this collaboration was to deliver a realistic plan to address the current situation, where almost 50% of Estonia’s CO₂ emissions stem from the construction and real estate sector.

The construction road map offers an overview of the possible and necessary measures to minimise the environmental impact of built space. It answers crucial questions about why, how, when and who must act to ensure the Estonian construction sector remains internationally competitive. The goal is to provide people with a high-quality living environment that meets the environmental requirements and climate goals of Estonia and the European Union.
