Every summer, dozens of future civil engineers intern at Merko facilities. The internship season culminates with Future Makers Day, where both younger and more experienced employees from Merko share the stories of how they became civil engineers with the interns. Together, they visit construction sites, listen to the experiences of other trainees and establish contacts who can support their professional development as civil engineers.

The younger engineers introduce the new intake to the construction sites on which they completed their own internships, recounting the work they did and the wisdom they gained through practical experience. Every intern is a full-fledged member of the Merko team whose contribution is appreciated and valued. Seeing how work is done on real construction sites under the supervision of a mentor has inspired many young people and fostered their desire to return to Merko.
