Together with the Society of Friends of the Art Museum of Estonia and other partners, Merko helped to purchase 200 new chairs for the Niguliste Museum to expand its exhibition and concert facilities. The oak chairs, designed by the Dutch company Casala, are easy to move and allow the central part of the museum to be used more for both exhibitions and concerts. The previous benches were donated to Pöide Church in Saaremaa.
