Sculpture „Pure Love“
Public art is another important value for Merko. A sculpture by Heigo Jelle entitled Pure Love now can be found by the building at Pille 4/1, adding character and 1.5 tonnes of love to Uus-Veerenni.
“It’s not here just for beauty’s sake – the work was created to get people to stop, think and grin. It can be interpreted as imparting the lesson that in a right, pleasant kind of interaction, we give what we have to give and get something that we need in return – in this specific case, a full stomach, get rid of parasites, and maybe something else good or useful,” said the artist.
The new sculpture complements the artworks already in place in Uus-Veerenni – a group of sculptures by Jass Kaselaan called Toys and another Jelle work called Toadstool Man.
Uus-Veerenni residential district by Merko is the largest integral area of new homes in the Tallinn city centre. When it is fully completed, it will be home for around 1,500 households.
This is one project out of many where Merko and the company’s shareholders have made a contribution to society.
