Cornerstone laid for the new office building of Tallinna Teede AS

Tallinn Teede AS, a road construction company, is building a new, modern office at Betooni 24, replacing its existing building complex. The company will recycle a large part of the material from the demolition of the old buildings. The three-storey office building, which will be completed in the second half of 2025, received its cornerstone in mid-November.

“The new office building takes into account the company’s needs today and its prospects for the future and provides a valuable working environment for our professional and result-oriented team. When completed, the new building will form a coherent whole with the production complex, workshop and laboratory building constructed in earlier stages,” said Jüri Läll, Head of Tallinna Teede AS. “Every year we have invested a considerable amount in both the green transition and the introduction of modern technologies. The company has one of the five accredited laboratories for testing asphalt mixtures in the republic. This year, as a result of the plant’s upgrading processes, we are the only asphalt plant in Estonia with the capacity to produce coloured asphalt in industrial quantities through a controlled industrial process. A piece of tricolour asphalt also found its place in the cornerstone cylinder of the new office building.”

“We have engaged the best architects to help create a human- and environmentally friendly environment both inside and around the building,” added Jüri Läll. The architect of the new office building is Martin Aunin and the interior architects are Kaire Kemp-Tišler and Ea Andla.

Much of the material from the demolition of old buildings is recycled. “By demolishing old buildings, we obtained several thousand tonnes of recyclable material. Aggregates, sand, insulation materials, stairs, doors, windows, entire heat production systems and other materials from the demolition process that can be used will be used in the office building being built, in several other buildings being renovated and in the company’s production process,” added Jüri Läll.

Tallinna Teede AS is the oldest continuously operating road construction company in Estonia, which has been engaged in the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of Tallinn’s road network since 1959. The company carries out almost all road maintenance works throughout Estonia, both using the general contracting method and its own machinery. This includes road construction, maintenance and resurfacing. The company also has its own asphalt plant and a accredited laboratory for testing road construction materials. Tallinna Teede AS is part of the Merko Ehitus group.
