The work involved the design and construction of the WTE plant’s 110 kV connection to Iru substation, and the delivery and implementation of a 110/10 kV 27.5 MW step-up transformer. In addition, 10 kV switchgear with seven bays, three transformers for the plant’s own use and the strong and weak-current connections between all equipment, including the plant’s generator, were designed, delivered and implemented. Ensuring compatibility of Iru’s new and old power plant proved a novel and complicated task.
On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
