The renovation of the switchgear of Anne 110 kV substation was necessary mainly due to the incorporation of the Fortum power plant. The complete engineering design was ordered from Merko headquarters: construction relied on the construction department, and the primary and secondary electrical design on the designers from the electrical works department.
Anne substation was complicated also as regards the secondary unit since the switchgears of Jaotusvõrk (35 kV Siemens, 10 kV Soviet time) and Põhivõrk (110 kV) required unification. For this purpose, 60 km of signal cables were used and connected to 12,000 terminals.
On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
