Construction continues at Lahekalda
A 50-apartment residential building will be completed at Paekalda 13 in autumn 2027. Apartment sales will begin in September. For now, interested buyers can register their interest to receive sales information before the public launch.
Construction at Lahekalda began in 2019. To date, six five-storey residential buildings have been completed in the centre of the development and six eight-storey apartment buildings along its eastern edge. Lahekalda is now home to nearly 500 families.
The apartment building now rising at Paekalda 13 will be the thirteenth building at Lahekalda and will complete development along the area’s eastern edge. The new building is located north of the existing buildings, ensuring direct sea views from the apartments for a considerable time to come, given the future construction schedule at Lahekalda.
While the Paekalda 23/1, 23/2, 21 and 19 buildings on Lahekalda’s eastern edge were completed some time ago, residents will move into Paekalda 17 and 15 this autumn, where interior works are currently being completed. At Paekalda 13, we will continue with the same visual identity created by PLUSS Architects. The new building will have eight storeys and offer apartments ranging from 35 to 124 square metres, with one to four rooms.
We are currently collecting preliminary registrations from prospective buyers here, and plan to launch apartment sales in September. Homes at Paekalda 13 are suited to buyers who want to have a say in the design of their apartment, for example by selecting an interior finishing package. Those who prefer a ready-to-move-in home can choose from the last available apartments in Paekalda 19 and 21, while homes nearing completion are available in Paekalda 15 and 17.
At Lahekalda, we follow the same principles that matter to us across all our developments. We want life in a Merko home to be as convenient as possible, which is why we devote considerable effort to ensuring that the surrounding environment also provides added value. For example, we have opened the 24/7 ‘Lahe pood’ convenience store at Lahekalda, and from August bus route 44 will serve the neighbourhood.
Our investment in delivery infrastructure has also proved worthwhile in supporting modern living. As in the Paekalda 15 and 17 buildings, residents of Paekalda 13 will be able to use parcel lockers. The building will also feature a spacious bicycle storage room with washing facilities.
Landscaped recreation and play areas between buildings are a Merko tradition. At Lahekalda, an outdoor gym encourages residents to stay active, while younger residents can enjoy the swings; there is also a marked walking route for exercise. Raised planting beds and a greenhouse with a bookcase help foster a sense of community. Visitors to the neighbourhood are welcomed by the artwork ‘Pilliroog’ (‘Reed’).
Lahekalda’s future will be diverse. The first phase of Lahekalda Park will be completed this autumn: we are creating landscaped areas, seating, swings and a basketball court at Paekalda 41. In addition to further residential buildings, we plan to develop commercial and service buildings in the area, as well as complete the green space in full.
Lahekalda is located in Tallinn on the Maarjamäe heights, between Kadriorg and Pirita. The development will comprise approximately 25 apartment buildings in total.
