Graanul Invest, a producer of pellets used for heating, built a combined heat (15 MW) and power (6.5 MW) plant in Patküla, Valgamaa. Merko’s job was to connect the new combined plant with Elering’s 110 kV network, and to build a 15 kV internal power network for the plant.

We built a (15 kV) cable line of about 4 km that transfers green energy produced in the new combined heat and power plant to Elering’s network, and installed a 10 MVA step-up transformer at the supply point. The new combined heat and power plant was connected with the power Network in August 2012.

On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
