C-block has five storeys, with a gross area of 27,529 m². The first stage of the work, approx. 16,000 m², was completed in August 2014; the second stage in March 2016. The architectural design of the renovation was developed by Arhitektuuribüroo Pluss OÜ, the author being architect Indrek Suigusaar. The interior design was by interior architect Argo Vaikla. The lead contractor was AS Merko Infra. The Medical Centre’s integral high-tech block, home to the day surgery operating unit, Estonia’s largest hospital blood bank, cardiology centre, laboratory, polyclinics, a unique logistics and waste centre and the hospital’s central kitchen. As a result of a long-term European funded project, thanks to the X Block completed in 2010, the NEMC will gain 57,336 m² of space for provision of modern healthcare.
