Under the agreement, part of the Kiisa 330kV substation property will be cleared from equipment and buildings to make room for a future synchronous condenser, which is an important part of ensuring the security of supply of the Estonian power grid after disconnecting it from the Russian network.
The necessary preparations are being made for connecting the synchronous condenser to the Kiisa substation.
A concrete transformer storage site and two transformer oil-containment foundations will be built for a total of 14 power transformers. One 20kV current limiting reactor, one 20kV indoor switchgear and 330kV voltage transformers will be installed. In addition, one 330kV duplex cell will be dismantled. New relay panels (4 pcs) and a new RTU will be supplied. All the necessary design, setup and testing work will be performed.
On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
