The Rakke substation in Lääne-Viru County was expanded to increase the reliability of the supply of electricity in the region. The work was performed in difficult and narrow conditions next to the old substation. As part of the contract, a new internal-type substation with 35 kV and 10 kV switchgear and automation equipment was designed and built on the turnkey principle, and two 10 kV self-supply and arc suppression coil cells were built. Besides construction of the control building, the construction work also included installation of equipment, connecting of cables, work to configure and integrate the equipment with the existing transformers, and earth-moving work.
On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
