The works included reconstruction of one of the most important high voltage substations in central Tallinn as a turn-key project. Scope consisted of design, renovation works of the substation building, delivery and installation of new high voltage equipment, relay protection and telecommunication devices, electrical works and commissioning.

To ensure electrical supply in central Tallinn, works were conducted in two stages. Due to lack of space, it was required to use 110kV insulated busbar for the first time in Estonian electrical system which ensured safe high power transmission.

On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto. Acting jointly under the Connecto brand makes it possible for us to offer a significantly broader range of services – in addition to the design, construction and maintenance of low, medium and high voltage electricity networks, Connecto also operates in the field of telecommunications and gas networks.
