The Pallasti Str apartment buildings are situated at the crossing of Laagna Road and Pallasti Street, close to the KUMU Art Museum and the Kadriorg Park. The buildings have three storeys and are made of prefabricated reinforced concrete. Each building has 13 fl ats. There are no basements or lifts. The ground floor accommodates in addition to technical rooms also storerooms. As the buildings are situated in a lighthouse zone and almost exactly between two lighthouses, they must not exceed the maximum height established for that region, and there must be no windows in the sea-facing façades not to distract ships. Based on the ban on windows the concrete walls use the graphic concrete technology – the flower motif is nicely visible from both Laagna Road and Valge Street. We are trying to be different from the rest of Lasnamäe by having much space and vegetation between the buildings. Each building has a playground, and there are sledge slopes made of leftover excavated material. The parking solution is also very interesting – it is 1.5 m lower than the ground level.
