AS Merko Ehitus Eesti will perform the design and construction works of BAUHAUS Tallinn Rocca al Mare DIY store offering products for home improvement and gardening, including Drive-In Arena, parking lot, utility works and access roads. The sales area of partly one-storey and two-storey centre is more than 14,000 m². The department store was designed on a shallow slab foundation. The load-bearing posts are reinforced concrete and the roof supports are steel. The two-storey part of the building has a ceiling of prefab hollow panels. The building roof is made of moulded sheet metal and the external walls are built of sandwich panels. There are seven light galleries on the roof letting natural light into the building, with a total area of 1,224 m², the biggest of them running 84 m in length. The underground part of the building has a water tank made of concrete slabs for storing water for fire fighting.
