Pärnu moat and park area is an architectural and historical monument and protected under heritage and nature conservation. In the course of the construction work, points significant in the context of archaeological exploration were reconstructed, e.g. a potern (a tunnel through a hill, i.e. a passage in the body of a massive pressure-receiving water construction), a tenail (a part of a defence structure) and medieval wooden bank fortifications, which all give a medieval feel to the surroundings. This project consisted of many different types of work – sheet pile wall sinking, concrete works, bridge construction, masonry, construction of different types of roads, utility line installation, electrical works, building of pavilions, building of scale models, construction of playgrounds, large-scale landscaping, building of floating berths, construction of a fountain, etc. It is safe to say that the revival of the moat park is an important affair for both, the town of Pärnu and whole Estonia.
