Within the framework of the agreement, the existing Avinurme regional distribution substation was reconstructed using the turnkey method. A new substation building was designed and built, where modern 35kV and 10kV distribution devices were installed with remote control and protection automation, as well as a ground connection compensation system was established. The existing external switchyard of the substation was demolished and disposed of. As a result of the construction work, electricity supply of around 1,000 industrial and private customers around Avinurme improved.

On 1 July 2021, Merko Ehitus Eesti acquired a stake in Connecto Eesti, and the Merko electrical construction business line merged with Connecto.
