Tallink Tennis Centre in Lasnamäe district has become a new home for many tennis lovers and the Estonian Tennis Federation. The largest and most modern tennis centre in Estonia has 20 tennis courts. Four out of nine hard courts meet the requirements of large international competitions; five courts are covered with a 7.5-mm-thick carpet which saves the players’ joints. Special attention has been paid to the acoustics of the courts, which enables the playing partners to speak to each other during the matches.
The roof above the courts is supported by 25-metre-long girders; therefore, there are no pillars between the courts. In summer, the players can use six outdoor courts with Plexipave surfaces. In addition, the centre has ten badminton courts, four studios for group workouts, a 650 m2 weight room, separate locker rooms for adults and children, saunas, and a tennis shop.
BIM models were used for generating 4D schedules, planning the construction work, verification of compatibility of different design parts.
