The Northern Greenhouse of Tallinn Botanical Garden consists of tropical and arid climate zones. Due to unfavourable soil, the foundation of the greenhouse was established on injection piles drilled through raft foundation. The structure of the building is steel building construction. The most dashing part of the building from architectural point of view is the roof, which flows together mostly to the middle of the greenhouse with its ten different sizes and inclines. The walls are mainly of aluminium glass façade, the roof is covered with polycarbonate tiles. The climate control system of the building is automated and allows, besides the traditional heating system, to maintain the required environment all the year round by means of adjustable windows, eye covers and moisture fans. In the tropical section, there is also a waterfall and a stream, which help to create even more sense of tropic among the plentiful exhibitions of Tallinn Botanical Garden.
