The building complex of Türi basic school consists of a two-storeyed school building with a triangular ground plan and a three-storeyed sports building with a rectangular ground plan. The complex with a total area of 7,800 m2 and nearly zero energy consumption is an educational institution and sports facility for up to 600 students.
The characteristic features of the new school building of Türi are the versatility of its load-bearing constructions, hand-made facades, large perforated and glass facades of the sports building and an original tunnel from the school to the gym or the so-called running corridor, which connects the two sections of the building into a whole.
Between the school and the sports building, which are connected by their ground floor, we laid out an amphitheatre-shaped yard space where school lessons and community events can be conducted in the open air. The tiered inner courtyard provides a get-together and recreation space that is most necessary for the whole local community.
